Just a glimpse into who you are at the age of five and a (very important) half:
- ROLE PLAY!! You still absolutely love to pretend…mostly in mommy or teacher mode, although sometimes you venture off into waitress or hair stylist mode. You love to serve us dinner several nights a week, although the waitress always ends up “taking her break to eat with us!” which we love
. - You love to be outside – riding your bike, playing mommy and pretending to drop off your kids at school, watching the older kids ride their bikes up and down the street.
- You have mastered the monkey bars and beg us to take you to the park all the time! We love watching you race across the monkey bars!
- You are exceling at school! Although this move has been hard on you, we have seen such a huge growth when it comes to school (after a month or so of settling in). You are now reading with confidence, and your handwriting is improving each day.
- Bedtime is definitely not your favorite time of day, only because you are so on the go and resist being still any chance you get! Though you often fight bedtime with stalling tactics (being hungry is the most often used tactic), you are usually asleep pretty quick once the lights are out! Our bedtime routine consists of lots of books (you usually read one and we read some), then prayers and back rubs.
- Mommy’s little girl right now…you love to be right by my side (which I adore) and are very observant of everything I do (and wear). When I came home from work the other day, you asked me “mommy, did your boss tell you it was okay to not look cute today?”…I just about fell over laughing! Apparently I have a little fashionista on my hands!
We are so blessed by your sensitive, loving spirit. While these last few months of change have been hard for you, we’re so proud of the strides you’ve made in the last several weeks. We are confident that your tenacious personality will take you wherever you want to go in life! We love you sweet girl!!
