{13.1}

The Chosen Marathon for Adoption was yesterday and it was the most amazing race!!  Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I’d be running a half-marathon, but I knew this was something I could not pass up.  Raising money to bring home sweet Valentina from Haiti for our dear friends, training and running alongside some of my closest friends, and raising awareness of the importance of adoption were all reasons I felt compelled to participate.  Yes, it was hard work and I am completely exhausted, but it was all worth it!

I feel so blessed that not only did I get to spend some great time with the girls for a girls’ night before the race, but that also my family and close friends woke up extra early on race day and came to cheer me on.  The moment of pure surprise at seeing my sister with her kids as well as our sweet friends at mile eleven was so amazing.  Then as I was rounding the final corner I spotted my husband and beautiful children near the finish line…what a sweet, wonderful feeling!!
