We celebrated Christmas morning at our house with just the four of us. Now that Riley (and soon enough Braden) is old enough to understand, we really want to be able to make it a tradition to celebrate Christmas morning at home.
We baked some cookies for Santa and popped some popcorn for the reindeer. Josh and I both put Riley to bed and read her the story of Jesus’ birth from the Bible. As much as we love seeing her excitement over Santa, we also love being able to teach her the true meaning behind Christmas. Then she was off to sleep, and Santa’s elves were quick to work!
Not a lot of pictures, as I really enjoyed just relishing in the moment with the family. We had such a wonderful morning – filled with squeals, wrapping paper flying everywhere, and a certain someone climbing in and out of boxes. Riley was in awe of the dollhouse that Santa brought her, but she was also took on the great big sister role and helped Braden unwrap his gifts. Watching the two of them together = one happy set of parents!
After a delicious breakfast (pancakes, sausage & strawberries), we hurriedly packed up the car and headed to Arlington.
